GRAND PANEL DEBATE – ID and security: Crystal ball

BLUE ROOM - Ballroom C
Day 3 - May 2

Since the dawn of time, humans have identified one another through faces, voices, gaits, scents, and so on. Over time, identification methods have evolved and become more sophisticated, but so too have the methods used to disguise and misrepresent identity. This is the perennial identity security challenge: how do you weed out imposters and other bad actors? With human interactions now taking place not just face-to-face but also in cyberspace, that challenge is far more vexing than it ever was to our Stone Age – and even Industrial Age – ancestors. The Crystal Ball Grand Panel Debate will look to the future to explore different perspectives – both government and commercial/consumer – on the growing challenge of identity in the Digital Age.
